Like many of you, I’ve seen tons of YouTube videos promising that faceless content can make passive income. So I decided to test it myself.
I launched a brand-new YouTube Shorts channel using only AI tools — to see what happens when you bulk-create and upload 100 short videos in a specific niche.
Why I’m Doing This
There’s a lot of hype. I’m not chasing viral hits — I’m building small, trackable experiments.
And I’ll keep testing until one of them starts making actual money.

Introducing “Grandpa’s Briefing Room”
I launched a new YouTube Shorts channel focused on short, fact-based clips with a spycraft and military intelligence theme — inspired by real-world briefings, historical ops, and global secrets. Each video is fast-paced, straight to the point, and lasts around 14–15 seconds.
You can check out the content by clicking on Grandpa’s Briefing Room (this link will take you directly to the YT channel).

To launch the channel, I uploaded a profile picture and custom banner, published the first 3 videos immediately, and scheduled other to go live over the following days.
YouTube’s schedule feature allows you to set a future publish time for each video, keeping the channel active without needing to manually upload content every day.
For this first phase, I plan to publish 3 reels per day, every day, for the next month.

How I Built It With AI and Canva
This entire experiment was powered by just two tools:
– ChatGPT (Free or Pro): used to generate story ideas, expand topics, and write titles, descriptions, and tags (though metadata still needs careful review — GPT often makes small but critical mistakes).
– Canva Pro: used for bulk video creation via spreadsheet import and templates. This feature is only available in the Pro version and was key to moving fast.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the Canva workflow:
– Created a simple video template (text + background + music)
– Wrote 100 short, factual scripts in spreadsheet format
– Imported them into Canva’s Bulk Create tool
– Generated all 100 videos automatically
– Reviewed and polished each one before uploading
This saved a huge amount of time compared to editing manually.

What I Expect From This Experiment
I’m keeping expectations low — this is a learning process.
I want to find out:
– Will the algorithm show this content to anyone at all?
– What’s the average watch time and engagement?
– Does quantity at scale perform better than handcrafted quality?
All results — good or bad — I’ll share with you here on the blog.
The Role of AI in This Project
AI played a very practical role in helping me launch quickly.
– It generated 100 factual micro-stories from public online sources
– It created titles, descriptions, and tags for each video
– It helped shape the theme and tone of the channel
While GPT isn’t perfect (especially when it comes to YouTube SEO), it removed a lot of the friction from starting something new — fast.

What’s Next
I’ll keep experimenting with more AI ideas across different niches, formats, and styles — anything that sparks curiosity or feels worth testing.
Faceless, but not soulless — just one persistent human using AI to turn ideas into something real. One blog post at a time.
